Gazette Report
T.S. Ganges End of an Era
By Ivan Hayward
- 31/Aug/09

After a long and hard fought battle by so many people I am very saddened to report the decision of the Marine Society to close T.S. Ganges. The last courses are now being run followed by a short period for decommissioning. Closure will be early 2010.
This decision no way reflects in any way on the running of the Boating Station or any of the staff, who over the years have given sterling service to the thousands of cadets who have attended courses there.

The decision was made by the Marine Society solely on the basis that a long term lease could not be secured from the Holyhead Sea Cadets who own the site.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us over the last 24 years; I know TS Ganges will be greatly missed by so many people.
